Media Author Review
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"A stop-motion-animated treat brimming with imaginative characters, evocative sets, sly humor, inspired songs and a genuine whimsy that seldom finds its way into today's movies."
United Kingdom
Empire
"A precious thing, if likely to please refined aesthetes and odd children rather than win over Pixar-sized crowds (...) Rating: ★★★★ (out of 5)"
United States
SFGATE
"Lively and deliriously original (...) The images are unlike anything you've ever seen"
United Kingdom
BBC
"It's rare you'll find a life-affirming film about the walking dead, and even less so one that's aimed at children (...) If you have a pulse, you'll love it."
United States
Entertainment Weekly
"Corpse Bride has much to recommend it, but I’m still waiting for the day when Burton, in an animated film, gets us to care about what’s making our own eyes pop out."
United States
AV Club
"Every frame of Corpse Bride is an eye-popping wonderland (...) [It] lacks Nightmare's intensity, but also its manic highs and disappointing lows"
United States
USA Today
"An unexpectedly touching celebration of love told in a quirky and inventive style."
United States
Los Angeles Times
"The film does have a fairy-tale aspect, but, like many of its characters, it is more dead and buried than fully alive."
United States
New York Daily News
"Stop-motion animation may be the hardest and most tedious job in Hollywood, but the makers of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride deserve a couple of years in Tahiti celebrating their effort."
