- Synopsis
- Lo, a hotel manager's daughter, leaves her finishing school to spend the holidays at her parent's hotel. Her parents are in trouble, the bell boy (in German "Der Piccolo") has just eloped with the chamber maid, there's a military maneuver near, the officers will stay at the hotel, and there will be a ball soon. No wonder that her parents order Lo to work as maid and bell boy. (ring once: bellboy, ring twice maid. The work is heavy, but the change of clothes has some advantage: if the guest is becoming too intimate with the maid, he will be served by the bell hop. In the meantime, she falls in love with a young lieutenant, who is expecting his cousin, who turns out to be one of her friends - a chatterbox - from school, who soon thinks that the bell boy reminds her of somebody...
