- Bressart first plays an actor in a travelling theatre troupe before he gets hired as a chauffeur by Charlotte Susa, who plays a writer of popular novels who seems to be somewhat modelled on Thea von Harbou, if her role's name in this film is any indication. As a chauffeur, Bressart takes his employer's car to win the heart of Truus van Aalten and pretends to be a general director of a company, while Susa falls in love with a worker who is not exactly in favour of her kind of 'literature'. And when the truth about the mistaken identities begins to get out, one hilarious scene follows another...
