- Synopsis
- Glasgow, mid 1970's. Haunted by a secret, 12 year-old James has become a stranger in his family. He is drawn to the canal bank where he finds an awkward tenderness with Margaret Anne, a promiscuous and vulnerable teenager and befriends Kenny who possesses an unusual innocence in spite of the harsh surroundings. As the family's shared dream of moving to a new home fades James finds a special place for himself, a half built house, a place of solace.
