- Synopsis
- Lost in bliss, Mado seems to have a perfect bourgeois life--a caring husband, children, and a wonderful house are everything she has ever wanted in this world. Up until that fateful excursion with friends to the picturesque city of Nafplio, where a quick stop at a level crossing brings her face to face with the faded memory of a war-stricken Athens, and the vivid remembrance of her intimate but fleeting liaison with the cryptic Resistance fighter, Yorgos Pavlidis. Now, little by little--as Mado secretly battles with an onslaught of emotions--an intricate web of improbable but very real encounters will start to entangle her in a bittersweet fantasy that demands answers. In the end, Mado would swear that she saw him at the ancient theatre of Epidaurus during a performance of Medea (1969). Did a pale ghost of the distant past return to haunt her?
