United Kingdom
The Guardian
"A solid crime drama that loses steam by the end (...) Rating: ★★★ (out of 5)"
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"A true-crime picture whose chilling effects are generated without a whiff of the manipulation that often comes with such films"
United States
The Wrap
"Chastain and Redmayne are well-suited to each other. Both naturally theatrical and highly technical actors, it’s clear they both bring joy and originality to their characters, even if the film is often dour and drab"
United States
SlashFilm
"Disappointingly flat serial killer drama (...) There's a real story here. Too bad they couldn't really figure out how to tell it on screen"
United States
IndieWire
"Tobias Lindholm's adaptation strikes a note of profound remove that never lets up, a fitting choice for this dark drama"
United Kingdom
Screendaily
"This superbly acted thriller – Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne both shine – is every bit as textured and knotty"
