Synopsis

1984 in the USSR. The exhaustion of the regime is plain for everyone to see and the strictness of the past is beginning to loosen up. There is one year to go before Gorbachov makes it to power and perestroika starts. In a provincial town, the daughter of an important member of the party goes missing after a party in a club. Nobody has seen anything, there are no leads, no suspects. That same day, a horrid crime is commited in a house. There, on the contrary, it seems clear the the murderer is the owner of the house. Police chief Zhurov will be the one in charge of investigating both cases with no apparent connection between them.
