- Synopsis
- The frustration and boredom of Michel des Assantes, a prestigious Parisian plastic surgeon, is unbearable: he has a wife he does not love, a son who is alien to him and friends he despises, but he is incapable of taking his own life. One day, he buys a bicycle from a bizarre cyclist who was going to ride the Paris-Tombouctou route and sets off on the journey: Timbuktu becomes for him the Promised Land.
