Synopsis
Jorge Loring Martínez, an enterpreneur from Málaga and a pioneer in Spanish aviation, promoted together with the scientist Emilio Herrera from Granada and the German manufacturers of the Graf Zeppelín the creation of an aerial line of transportation by dirigibles the Colon Transaerea for passengers as well as cargo between Seville and Buenos Aires. Jorge Loring was well known for a series of innovations he introduced in the incipient aeronautical era. He started the first comercial airlines, set up the bases for the postal service by plane, built Juan de La Cierva's autogiro prototype, founded pilots schools and built airfields. All these initiatives were essential to modernize the aeronautical communication's system within Spain and the exterior.
