- The Man Who Was Sherlock Holmes (German:Der Mann, Der Sherlock Holmes War) is a German mystery comedy of 1937, directed by Karl Hartl.
Hans Albers plays the detective Morris Flynn, who likes to pretend to be Sherlock Holmes, while Flynn's assistant, Macky McMacpherson (Heinz Rühmann), enjoys posing as Dr. Watson. During the 1910 World Exposition in Brussels, the two of them come to the aid of two young ladies in their efforts to retrieve a valuable stamp. Flynn is arrested during his investigation on the charge of impersonating Sherlock Holmes. Cliff is saved at the last minute by an amused Arthur Conan Doyle who is gratified that his imagination has come alive.- Movie Soulmates' ratings
