Synopsis

1942, Europe is at war. In Payerne, a town in rural Switzerland, redolent with the odors of bacon, tobacco, milk and livestock meat, the economic situation is bad. Sinister-looking men are on the prowl. The cafés are full of moaners. Auto mechanic Fernand Ischi and his mates dream of taking action. On Thursday April 16, the region’s cattle fair will take place. The Jewish trader Arthur Bloch will be there. On that day an example will be made.
