- In Nueva España the Inquisition apprehends a Jewish family. One of the members of this family escapes and seeks refugee with a rabbi. Someone informs on him and he is captured and tortured subsequently revealing the names of other Jews. Ripstein re-elaborates in this film the notions of intolerance in the context of Colonial Mexico.
