Synopsis
TV Series (2002-2006). 4 seasons. 86 episodes. Amanda Bynes teams up with Jennie Garth in this comedy about two sisters who push their relationship to the limit. When their dad took a job in Japan, teenage live-wire Holly Tyler (Bynes) and her straight-laced twenty-something sister, Valerie (Garth), moved in together in New York City. Holly managed to unravel Val's well-ordered life in no time at all. Their new life together has taken a lot of getting used to, but Val and Holly's relationship is stronger than ever.

Last season, Holly struggled with love. She tried to stay "just friends" with handsome bike messenger, Vince (Nick Zano, MTV's "Movie House") and find true love with Ben (David De Lautour), a British rock 'n roller she met on a summer trip. At the end of the season, Holly realized that her heart is still with Vince. However Vince, in love with Holly but frustrated by the confusion Holly brings to his life, left town to spend the summer in Florida. Unfortunately, Holly was a moment too late to tell Vince she loves him and was forced to hide in the back seat of Vince's Mustang as another girl, Ricki (Minka Kelly) takes her place as Vince's companion for the drive down south. Will Holly ever get to say "I love you" to Vince?

Big sister Val also struggled with love. Her marriage to high school sweetheart Rick ended right before the "I Dos" when she learned that he was still seeing his former fiancée, Julie. Val briefly re-ignited a high school relationship with Todd (Luke Perry), a local plumber. At the season's end, when Val learned that Rick has married Julie, she reacted in the worst possible way: a drunken binge in Atlantic City. She awakened to find that she married Todd the Plumber. Or did she?

Season Four opens with Holly in Florida - stranded after a cramped backseat car ride. It's now or never for Holly and she puts her heart on the line, telling Vince her true feelings. But is Vince in love with her? Or is he committed to Ricki? This time, love works out for Holly and Vince. The new couple must now learn to work through the challenges of a young, exciting, blossoming relationship - juggling romance with real life. And of course, still hang out with best friends Gary Thorpe (Wesley Johnson) and Tina Haven (Allison Munn). As for sister Val, she discovers that her marriage to Todd the Plumber was only a dream. She actually married her former boss-turned-firefighter, Vic (Dan Cortese). Val wants out of the marriage, but Vic has other ideas. He believes their meeting was destiny and wants to make it work. He's determined to wear Val down with charm, kindness, humor and of course, his amazing biceps don't hurt. Val's best friend Lauren (Leslie Grossman) meets a potential soul mate through an internet poker game and the relationship blossoms -- until it is revealed that he's married. Holly and Val do their best to support Lauren through her bad choices.

For the Tyler sisters and friends, life in NYC is never without surprises. There's romance and adventure around every corner. And though there are bumps along the way, it's comforting to know that Holly and Val are always there for each other.
