- In the conclusion of the Black Guardian trilogy, the TARDIS materialises on what appears to be an Edwardian racing yacht. It is soon revealed to be a disguised spacecraft, competing in an deep space race. The competitors are Eternals, immortal beings incapable of imagination or creative thought, drawing inspiration from the minds of their mortal crews.
