Synopsis

This NBC pilot from a TV Series was set in the Alaska, and followed the mysterious disappearance of the Midnight Sun, a group living on a cult-like commune in Alaska, and a female FBI cult specialist leading the investigation that uncovers a larger conspiracy.

According to some sources, this pilot -titled "Midnight Sun"- that got filmed as an NBC pilot but didn’t make it to the lineup for fall 2012. It was a conspiracy thriller involving an Alaska cult-like commune whose 37 members disappear overnight.

Based on a successful Israeli series -also involving a commune that disappears-. The pilot featured Julia Stiles in the lead as the FBI investigator with a troubled cult past of her own. Show creator Lisa Zwerling visited several Alaska locales to do research for the script. Early reviews were promising, but something didn’t quite click over at NBC, and the series never aired.
