Media Author Review
United States
Variety
"Plummer is very good in a role that carries much of the film’s weight (...) Those looking for standard horror-genre payoff (...) will inevitably find 'Clovehitch' too reticent and slow."
United States
Bloody Disgusting
"It’s shocking to see how much anxiety gets created in the film’s first half hour and the solid foundation that this provides for what follows (...) Masterfully presents its thought-provoking tale with confidence (…) Rating: ★★★★ (out of 5)"
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"'The Clovehitch Killer' offers an intriguing perspective on the darker side of American values, but lacks the conviction to entirely expose the cultural contradictions that often enable compulsive murderers."
United States
The New York Times
"With its achingly slow build and understated performances, 'The Clovehitch Killer' strains to surmount its lack of urgency."
United States
Film School Rejects
"[It] thrills through exciting narrative devices, immersive acting, and thoughtful commentary. It’s a refreshing take on the serial killer mystery"
United States
IGN
"'The Clovehitch Killer' is a truly scary and surprisingly thoughtful flick which transcends the trappings of its genre roots with sterling direction and a minimalistic approach to horror."
United States
The Film Stage
"[It asks] us to get wrapped up in the mystery of who Clovehitch is by also asking us to accept way more than this minimalistic premise earns."
