"This feels more like a Hollywood wannabe than a French film. Where's the quirkiness, the nuance, the deeper levels? (...) Rating: ★★½ (out of 4)"
United States
Miami Herald
"There's very little in The Chorus you haven't seen before, but the movie's depth of sentiment -- especially its profound humanism -- makes it worth experiencing again"

The Guardian
"It's a likeable, warm-hearted, manipulative film, predictable right down to the finale (which is almost identical to the end of Julia Roberts's recent venture into pedagogy, 'Mona Lisa Smile')."
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"An appealing lead performance from its leading man and a wonderfully sentimental, if overly familiar, story line are the chief virtues of this French drama"

Variety
"A relentlessly heartwarming addition to the annals of One-Teacher-Can-Make-a-Difference pics"
United States
Boston Globe
"The crime of The Chorus isn't that it's corny. (I like corny.) It's that its corniness seems programmed"
United States
Chicago Reader
"The excellent cast in Christophe Barratier's loose remake of a 1945 Jean Dreville film ensures that the predictable, nostalgic ride remains enjoyable throughout."
United Kingdom
