- The tribute that Sitges and Anima’t are paying to Gisabur? this year has its perfect finale in this documentary, recently premiering in Japan. Portraying both Sugii’s work (imaginative, artisanal, lyrical) and personality, Masato Ishioka does an in-depth study of the importance of one of the founding fathers of anime. Colleagues and disciples offer their visions of the maestro, and the film’s final result talks to us both about the artist’s incredibly rich universe and the evolution of the anime industry throughout the years.
