- Synopsis
- Descalç sobre la terra vermella (Barefoot on Red Soil) is about the life of bishop Pere Casaldàliga from his arrival to Sao Felix do Araguaia in Brazil, his tireless fight on behalf of the poor and the native Indian people. Casaldàliga has to confront the landowners of the area and he also has to think about the role the catholic church should play. What to do: build his own church and officiate baptisms and burials? Shut his eyes on the pain of the people? Casaldàliga understands that neutrality is not possible and that he has to take part.
