- Synopsis
- There is "a Jacques Tourneur mystery". Where does this belief in the invisible world and the supernatural come from for this director who is nevertheless very rooted in reality? When Jacques Tourneur said in an interview: "many people live in fear and they don't know it", could we imagine that despite this apparent serenity of his behavior, he himself lived in this permanent fear and that his films were a means of exorcising him? At the same time as a portrait of Jacques Tourneur through his films, this documentary - filmed in black and white high definition 4 K - is also an investigation into the inspiration of the filmmaker through the testimonies of personalities who were passionate about his work - N.T Binh, Frank Lafond, Joël Farges, Serge Le Péron, Gilles Menegaldo, Pierre Rissient, Philippe Rouyer, Dominique Rabourdin and Bertrand Tavernier - but also the psychoanalyst Roger Dadoun.
