Media Author Review
United States
Variety
"[A] gentle breeze of a film, whose uneven story is kept aloft by the uplifting lead actors."
United States
Los Angeles Times
"The scenery’s gorgeous; Redgrave and Bergin are pros; Tom Everett Scott is fittingly gross as the selfish stage dad; and Goodacre has some charm. But the film forgot to graft a personality onto its protagonist"
United States
Common Sense Media
"'Finding You' is full of discoveries, like a smartly assembled cast and the beauty of Ireland (...) [It] works both for families seeking out faith-based films and for those who aren't interested."
United States
The New York Times
"It lacks the personality and dramatic stakes to interest adult viewers (...) Even as an amorous daydream, 'Finding You' is dated and generic"
United States
IndieWire
"Rehashing 'Notting Hill' for millennials, with middling results (...) [It] is never able to find its own heart"
United States
The Washington Post
"There are no real surprises here, except maybe one. It would never work, Finley warns us, and it seems she might as well be talking about this cornball movie. But thanks to something ineffable (...) 'Finding You' kinda, sorta does (…) Rating: ★★½ (out of 4)"
United States
Detroit News
"It's a harmless distraction, and the cast is likeable and attractive enough, in a teenage magazine kind of way. But there's not much here"
United States
Austin Chronicle
"It’s as if 'Finding You' was written by a computer program that studied 2000s rom-coms, taking the worst tropes and clunkily blending them together (…) Rating: ★ (out of 5)"
United Kingdom
The Guardian
"Sex-free teen romance for 'Twilight' generation (...) Wholesome young stars –and Vanessa Redgrave– do their best with this anodyne Irish-set love story (…) Rating: ★★ (out of 5)"
