"This muckraking melodrama has considerable power and some strong performances"
"'Brubaker' is a well-crafted film that does a harrowingly effective job of portraying the details of its prison, but then it populates it with positions rather than people (...) Rating: ★★½ (out of 4)"
"Competent but dreary"
"An earnest, right-minded, consistently unsurprising movie (...) It says a lot about a movie that the only mildly interesting characters in it are those who are corrupt"
"A vivid, entertaining and shamelessly manipulative 'crusading' melodrama" |
