- Synopsis
- The inspirational true story of Belgian euthanasia activist Mario Verstraete comes to the screen in this compassionate drama from director Nic Balthazar. Verstraete was on the path to a promising career in politics when he was diagnosed with a ravaging form of Multiple Sclerosis that led him to become an outspoken proponent of assisted suicide. In this film, we witness Verstraete plight through the eyes of his close friend Thomas, whose unique perspective casts an increasingly politicized issue in a deeply humanistic light.
