- Synopsis
- Jean-Marie Straub sets this short, unwieldy and strange film, based on a short story by Heinrich Böll, amidst the false peace of Germany's reconstruction and rearmament. "A flash of lightning performing a balancing act between truth, concentration and aggravation", is how Karl-Heinz Stockhausen described the film in a letter to Straub. All of a sudden a young filmmaker appeared on the scene, and thus casting somewhat more light on the state of affairs.
