- Synopsis
- Dou Niu (Cow) is a movie by another sixth-generation Chinese director and is about to hit the international red carpet. Set in the winter of 1940, the movie revolves around Niu Er, a peasant who is tasked with protecting his village's dairy cow. He remains committed to his job through thick and thin, despite whatever fate throws at him - including attacking Japanese troops. Like Nui Er, the movie triumphs in maintaining its sense of humor despite the often bloody and cruel context in which the action takes place.
