- Synopsis
- Veteran detective Joe Gavilan (Harrison Ford) is on the biggest case of his career and saddled with a new partner, K.C. Calden (Josh Hartnett), a yoga instructor and aspiring actor, who can't quite decide between being a cop or an actor. They both have to investigate the on-stage slaying of a rap group. The mass murder was possibly orchestrated by Sartain, a notorious rap label boss, who is rumoured to have arranged the deaths of other rap artists in the past, who wanted to get out of their contracts. To compound matters, Sartain's head of security is, himself, a former LAPD officer.
- Critics' reviews
-
-
"A cop comedy with a refreshingly wry, adult and humane attitude"
-
"Ten minutes in, and the verdict is already clear: This is a flick that goes both ways. It's funny, then it's not"
-
"One of the most lazily scripted, poorly structured, smugly stereotyped star vehicles in recent memory. Bizarrely, this seems to be the point."
